Power to the People / Now we're all equal

It's great to see former political slogans being used to sell fake sugar. This is what I'm talking about: The Spirit of the Sixties is dead, and it's become a corporate commercial joke used to sell products to the Baby Boomers, like a digitized dead Fred Astaire selling vacuum cleaners. [ed.-Great, now whenever I watch old films of Fred Astaire, I'll picture him dancing with a Dirt Devil.] The sad truth is my kids in the future won't remember the original, since nothing is sacred in corporate America. "Power to the People? Oh you mean Power to the Packet, right? Like that Equal slogan." You've gotta be kidding me, son.

Power to the Packet

Power to the people,
Now we're all Equal.
Like dextrose in a glass,
Our time will soon pass.

Power to the people,
Now we're all Equal.
The sixties are dead,
And so is your head.

Power to the people,
Now we're all Equal.
It's all been done
,
So stop your fun.

Power to the people,

Now we're all Equal
.
So let's rally on,
Yeah, right, come on.

Power to the people,
Now we're all Equal.
"Dust in the Wind,"
Here comes "The End."

Power to the people,
Now we're all Equal.
Like dextrose in a glass,
Our time will soon pass.

Peace. They can't take that word, I'm not done with it yet.
